- Complete visual inspection of pool area, recording images and videos as evidence of current status
- Test pool gate for full automatic closure and latching, along with the strength and stability of the gate and barriers/fences
- Record measurements of fences, barriers, gates, and non-climbable zones around the pool area
- Ensure risks have been minimized in a way that prevents children from entering the pool area without assistance from a responsible person
- Issue a QBCC Pool Safety Certificate if the pool is found to be compliant
- Issue a QBCC Non-Conformity Notice and report on issues that cause the pool to be non-compliant, including advice on how to rectify the issues and the pool owner's responsibilities in gaining compliance
